Ash Trees Part 2

Stop by Dupage Ct. today, the city will be planting trees there.

These trees will replace the ash trees that were removed last year from Emerald Ash Borer. Native plants will also be installed under the trees.

The native planting designs came from a cooperative effort with the Green Infrastructure Committee of the City of Elgin Sustainability Commission."

I received this post from the city and walked down from the coffee shop - sure enough, there they were with a front loader, placing new trees into the planters.

I couldn't get too close since they were working, but the are good-sized trees, and the appear to be maples. That would go along with the sole tree left that had been used as a replacement years ago. They are messy trees, but they are durable, and hopeful in only a couple years, the breezy, shady environment will be back in full force.

This one nearly toppled into the awning, but they caught it.  I could see a possible workman's compensation claim coming.
